The Ligurian sea and the beaches are very clean and well maintained. At almost every beach you can find deck chairs and umbrellas, you can either rent them but you do not have to. Often you will find a free section where you can just lay in the sand. The most beautiful beach is called "Spiaggia D'Oro" and is located in Imperia in the district of Porto Maurizio but in the high season it is quite crowded.
Other recommended beaches: Arma di Taggia, Santo Stefano al Mare, both are in the direction of Sanremo. Diano Marina (in the direction of Genua) is especially recommended for those who need a little more hype and for families travelling with teenagers. Diano Marina offers a lot of entertainment, you may well go shopping and go out at night. Beautiful clean sandy beaches.
In the harbor of Oneglia you will have the possibility to hire an inflatable boat with an outboard motor or to book a boat trip. The inflatable boat you can drive yourself even without a boat license. The prices you will find in the PDF file. The boat tours by motorboat are controlled by a professional. It is up to you to make a tour only for a few hours or a whole day. These trips are calculated depending on the number of participants and the duration. If the weather is bad, the tour can be canceled. Please find contact details in the PDF file.
From Prelá Castello or Vasia you can start wonderful short hiking tours (the guidebooks and maps are available in the apartment). Experienced hikers could make trips to the Monte Faudo and Monte Foligia (about 6 hours walking time) or a trip to France (nearby) to the Mercantour National Park (about 1, 5 hour drive) where you can climb up to 3000m, to admire the sea, the alps and the famous ancient rock drawings.

Via Gabriele D'Annunzio 8b
18100 Imperia-Porto Maurizio
At the moment the old railway route directly along the sea is developed as a cycle track, the route San Lorenzo - San Remo is already completed.
In the pedestrian zone of San Lorenzo, you can rent bikes of all kind. A great track, even for children possible.

Art and culture
The area is particularly nice for those who are interested in culture and art as well as for nature lovers. The lively activity of the fashionable places on the coast (Alasssio, Ospedaletti, San Remo) contrasts with the medieval villages in the backup area which will enchant you with their stories: F.ex. the witch village Triora, the mystical Ceriana or the village Busana Vecchia with its ruins.
For art lovers, it is a must to visit Genoa with its palaces and the old town under UNESCO protection.

During the summer holidays I also offer courses for children!
Where to go in Western Liguria??
[Tour suggestions, places worth seeing]
From Genoa towards France:
Genoa with its old town and the aquarium. I recommend to go to Genoa by train to avoid the parking problems. The train station Genova Brignole is located in the centre of the city. If you want to drive your own car, there are many guarded parking lots near the aquarium.
Other places worth seeing on the coast: Noli, Varigotti, Finalborgo (above Finale Ligure), Borgio Verezzi, Albenga, Alassio, Laigueglia, Cervo, Imperia, especially the Parasio district in Porto Maurizio, Bussana Vecchia, Sanremo, Bordighera, Ventimiglia Alta, the "Giardini Hanbury" botanical garden in Ventimiglia.
In the hinterland:
Dolcedo, Pietrabruna, Civezza, Borgomaro, Taggia (not to be confused with Arma di Taggia), Badalucco, Triora, Dolceaqua, Apricale, Perinaldo, Baiardo.
A little further on SS28 direction Torino: Pieve di Teco, Rezzo
From Imperia, it is only a few kilometres to the Côte_d'Azur (France) here very recommendable: Menton with the museum of Jean Coctou, Eze, Botanical Garden Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Saint Paul de Vence with Foundation Maeght and of course the Principality of Monaco.
